Big work in going on in Fort Lauderdale right now, Mega yachts get shipped from all over the world, they hitch a ride on (on deck) the Dock wise super serpent's. It saves time and money, Example: The Mediterranean to Fort Lauderdale crossing takes two weeks on Yacht Express compared with about three to six weeks if a vessel traveled on its own bottom. While prices vary depending on season, itinerary and other factors, it can cost about $250,000 to $275,000 to carry a 150-foot yacht one-way from the Mediterranean to Fort Lauderdale. The vessel owner saves on wear and tear on the main engines and fuel, and wear and tear on the yacht.

Marine towing
It's boat show time in Fort Lauderdale , Lots of marine towing going on at this show for the setting up and the break down of this event. This event has a crane and barge just for the sole purpose of driving in temporary dock pile I beams made of metal to shackle the deck lines of these mega yachts to hold the vessels in place. The picture above is last year's show boat show, our Zodiac being used as a shackle boat. These boats get packed in for a chance at a sale, vendors come to sell their products, motor companies come show off their new products and boat dealers as well. We will see you there.

Towing a distressed vessel , marine towing
Downrite Marine Towing Fort Lauderdale in tow with a 63' Marquis Yacht that caught fire off Dania Beach Florida. This job was also shown on the Discovery Channel show Shipwreck Men.

Marine towing Fort Lauderdale
Marine Towing , from the new river to west palm this 53 foot vessel was towed to a ship in the port of Palm Beach for overseas shipping. This vessel was collected and stored by Downrite until shipping was arranged. This is a picture of the vessel in tow starting out on the New river in Fort Lauderdale headed for West Palm Beach.
